this is probably a stupid question, but can u swap a 2nd gen engine with a skyline engine?

I don't know but aren't those inline 6's ?? I would think that would be HUGE and hard to get in there. Why would you do that anyways? how much power do they put down?

WTF indeed. No. Skyline engines are large. I mean, Have you ever seen a skyline? When you place one right next to an FC or FD, they look like dwarfs.

well how much damn HP does it have?? If it has like 200 or something that is a pointless swap if your looking for performance. You can get a TII to 300 or 400 whp if you have the cash and time. I don't see you needing anything more than that unless you want to move the space shuttle on the way to work.

RB26 in rx7= WTF!!, If you wanted to pursue that much power you could just swap to a 20B or maybe a 13B-rew swap from a FD. But i think it would be a complete waste of time to swap any RB motor in there.

If your looking for a lot of power, and you have endless money to spend, either swap in a 20b or a v8... both will be hard... i have a feeling people on this board will like you more if you go with the 20b

but either way its goign to cost a lot of money, and theres no sense putting a skyline engine in an rx7, plenty of easier and cheaper ways to make power

Guys what are you talking about ppl swap v8's in FC's all the time, the skyline engine is a v6 and smaller its nothing new...As far as doing it HELL NO! wtf you think make FC's so special? Its that wonderfull rotary that does!!

RB20DET (2.0L) 215hp, RB25DET (2.5L) 255hp, RB26DETT (2.6L TT) 276hp officially, more like 295-320hp depending on year. These are for completely stock engines. All three types respond extremely well to simple bolt-ons thanks to Nissan's penchant for very restrictive exhausts.

Apart from a few aftermarket specials in tiny numbers, no Skyline has ever put out 380hp stock...

DuDe, from your question (and misuse of capitals), I'm assuming you're young and new to this game. Any engine swap involving an engine never intended for the car is going to be expensive and time-consuming do to the amount of custom work required. This is particularly so for if you intent to replace a very short rotary with a very long inline-6. Plan on sticking with what you have until you're more experienced, richer or preferably both.

lets say you have an I6 with cylinders spaced the same and are the same size as the cylinders in a v8.... if you have four next to four like:

OOOO
OOOO

six is going to be longer, because it's a line:

OOOOOO

i know it's just a repeat of what Black13B said, but to put it in simple terms 6 in a row is longer than 4 in a row, the V8 will be WIDER than the I6 probably, but not as long

but they often surpass that number and just call it 280...
