qouple of questions regarding ignition.

i don't trust the Haynes manual any more since it mislabeled my 12V for my fuel pump so i will ask this now.

anyways, im trying to wire in my haltech. the problem that im having is that i dont know weather i should keep the ignition output tapped into the s5 harness, or should i run new wiring?

what do you guys think i should do?

is there a relay involved or what?

no.

i tapped into the stock harness on my s5 so that the haltech can fire the coils. im wondering is maybee perhaps there is something on the line such as a relay or something that im unaware of thats somehow turned on by the stock ecu.

I'm surprised you're even attempting an EMS install without using the proper FSM wiring diagrams. All you need is in there.

The stock EFI system (injectors, coils, solenoid valves, etc) is powered by the main relay. If you're using the stock wiring for the coils then the Haltech needs to turn on the main relay.
