Putting a shopping list together for S5 on S4 engine conversion, few questions.

I'm running out of things to fiddle with on my GXL for power and don't really feel like pulling apart a strong engine to port it so I want to replace the S4 intake manifolds with the S5s.

From what I've been reading on the topic I should gain a decent amount of power over the S4s especially since I have the Racing Beat collected header running down through the presilencer and out the RB cat-back. The engine is also running very smoothly and seems to be tuned as well as I can get it.

I don't think the swap should be too difficult especially since I have done a full emissions removal and the only vacuum powered stuff I have is the cruise control, FPR and the crankcase ventilation thing (I could also dump that for a catchcan anyways, which I'll probably do when I rip the intake apart again).

I know I'll have to ground off a bit of the engine housing to make it fit right and I'll need new gaskets and have to figure out a way to get the VDI and air pump powered aux. ports to pop open, but other then that I think it should be pretty simple after I rig up the vacuum routing (which will be very minor).

Ok, on with the questions.

1. ) I'm not completly clear on which parts I will need to pick up. So far I know for sure I need the two UIM pieces (the part that attaches to the throttle body, and the mid section of piping), the LIM and all it's parts (aux. ports, BAC valve) and I'll need to make sure the whole deal includes the VDI as well. Oh yeah, can I keep my aux. port sleeves as well?

I'm trying to replace only the things that I need since all the equipment on the car now is working very well, so can I use my current fuel rails, injectors, and throttle body (it has been modded and is nice and clean)? I also have a very nice set of block-off plates for the ACV and was wondering if that'll fit on the S5 as well or if I have to order another plate for that.

I was also wondering how much you guys think the manifolds and the junk on them would sell for since I'm trying to my frugle (well, the wife get's mad whenever I put any more money into it ).

2.) Will I need to make any changes to the electrical system? I think the only electrical pieces on the manifold that need to be connected are the intake temp. sensor and the BAC valve, but do I need to make any changes to the plugs on the harness or will it be plug and play?

3.) I don't have an air pump and don't really feel like putting one back on so is can I use my exhaust back pressure to open both of those if I tee off from the split air pipe? There was a guy who did this on one of the how-tos I read and he seemed to be happy with it since the aux. ports still open before the VDI because the VDI requires more pressure and I figure if the pressure isn't enough I can always block-off the tube that normally runs to the ACV from teh split-air pipe and it should create more pressure in the tube since it doesn't have that AVC cavity to fill anymore.

Well, that's about it... damn that was a long post.

I think it should be a fun project though, and I have a couple of full S4 intake runners lying around I can sell right now that I was going to port but it looks like I'll get more juice from the S5 system since it transitions much better (especially after teh throttle boddy) and the VDI looks like it's more then a gimmick as well.

Thanks for any advice you can give!

Ok, I answered some of my questions by googling around some more and it looks like I will need to get a new plug and extend the BAC connection and the fuel rails will have to be replaced. I can use my throttle body however, which will be nice. Still out on a few different things though.

Check out www.teamfc3s.org/forum there are two great posts from when another member and myself did the swap. They chronicle all the little problems and solutions we found. Should be very helpful.
