Putting new Thread for Intake Manifold
A while back I stripped the middle thread for the intake manifold. I brought it in to a place to have it done and they are rather hesitant to do it. They are not 100% sure that they can do it properly due to the fact that it's aluminum and if they screw it up I might need to replace the lower manifold.
How tough is it? Taking it elsewhere isn't really an option. I have basically 2 choices: 1. Leave it. 2. Get them to do something they don't really want to do.

Use a "Heli-Coil" - you can get them at most auto parts stores.  A "kit" is pretty pricey - around $20-$30, but it has everything you need to "rethread" the damaged hole, even in aluminum.

You need a drill (for the drill bit) and a wrench to crank the tap into.  The Heli-Coil kit comes with a special tool to insert the Heli-Coil insert into the block.
The hardest part is to drill carefully straight into the hole.
I'd say for one hole, you shouldn't take more than 30 minutes to an hour for your first time.  Experiences guys can do this in 5 to 10 minutes.
