Ummm, this may be a stupid question, but is it in someway dangerous to put a car on a dyno?

I heard so many horror stories about cars breaking or engines dying on dynos I'm a bit afraid to go on it? Anything I should worry about? I never been on a dyno before.

No, only if they don't strap the car down safely...

Also, watch the water temps, cause fans don't cool the car down as good as you flying down the freeway.
Novices tend to get overexcited and forget to check the temps.

The loads are typically lower on the dyno than on the street, so you shouldn't be breaking anything if you can't blow the car up on the street.
