putting ignition switch together... help!

putting ignition switch together... help!

still having problems starting my car.... i thought it has something to do with the ignition switch. i tried pulling it out and cleaning it off.. tried opening the switch and this is what happened when it opens up suddenly...

how do i put this back together? i didnt even get the chance to see how it all looked like assembled...

please someone help.

they dont have the exploded diagram.. they only talked about the continuity on the wires......

Uhhh...I've never heard of "rebuilding" an ignition switch. They commonly die around 110K miles. Replace the frikking thing and move on. Keep the flow moving. Don't let a pile of useless parts stop you. If you're on the cheaps, get one at the junk yard, but it's probably got about...110K miles on it. Good luck.

Lets see what I can do. The ball bearings go in the holes in the black part (red). The black part goes inthe white cup, the spring (green) goes against the little part on the cup and the round peg goes in the hole. The springs go in the top of the black part, big springs in the big holes, small springs in the small holes. I'm pretty sure the metal tabs go in 1, 2, 3 but turn number 2 around so they will fit together. Then be carefull putting everything back on the wired part.

why buy if you can rebuild and LEARN? thats why we got people like rodney who is willing to help and MAKES RX7CLUB a better place to get info....

thanks again rodney. i have put the 2 bearings and all the springs together.... i just cant figure how to put the 3 metal tabs together.... I have been awake for almost 24 hours (been up since 5am and working two jobs.) and having a hard time seeing things now...

ill try again tomorrow and post pics of my progress....


and yes this could be a learning experience for everyone else whos been having trouble starting their car (ignition switch related).
