Putting 90 TII motor into 88 TII..help?

Hey dudes,

I have an 86 GXL, to which i performed a complete TII swap from a donor 10th AE. Everything went into the car, all harness/interior, full drivetrain etc..

The drivetrain has 159 000km on it, the motor feels ok, its boosts 5.5psi even and never goes over no matter what gear.

Anyways 4 months ago my friend bought a brand new 90 TII reman motor from mazda. Came with everything new, turbo, intercooler etc.. has 12000km's on it currently. My buddy has decided to go bigger so he is dropping in a 3 rotar and im getting his old motor.

Since i will be swapping an s5 motor into a s4 what is different? I know that the s4 motor has the mechanicals oiling pump and the s5 motor has an electric? one..

Can i just pull my motor out and drop this one in, having the harness hook right up and the computer? Will i need the s5 engine harness and the s5 ecu as well??

thank you to anyone that responds..

i know you could just use the s4 injectors and electronics since the block itself are nearly identical. but i am curious as to what exactly else needs to be switched.

you HAVE to have the S5 ecu. the S4 ecu will not handle it.
i believe you have to have the S5 harness as well.

I am dropping the engine in as one, as it is.. not changing injectors or anything.. it runs beatifully as it is, pulling 8psi in 1st and 10psi in 2, 3, 4, 5. I have an FD pump to install to cope with the extra boost.

So the passenger side harness and the computer.. everything else should hook up... why would they change the harness?

yes either use an S5 harness and ECU or swap alot of parts from your old motor to the new one.
