The yellow FC that you said "competes in D1"

I do NOT believe those are the same cars. I'm thinking Falken (or whoever owns it) has one show car, and one used on the track. Please note that they both have different bumpers, look at the curveture of the front headlights, it is obviously not the cut-out style. Also, a lot of the stickers are misplaced, different colors, etc.

Edit: After taking a closer look, yes, they are indeed different cars. Sure, it could be the lighting..but the cars look to be totally different colors. The stickers are almost all different, majority of them are completely different colors, and the seats in the cars are NOT the same. Now, I dunno...but..I'm pretty sure that the D1 racers don't get their seats replaced all that often. They also appear to have slightly different mirrors. Like Knightsport vs. RE Amemiya.

yeah, I mean, I've seen a lot of show cars with body damage/rub marks/scrapes and stuff...

and wires dangling around everywhere, and roll bar padding with ugly tape wrapped around it

and driving around the track with a bunch of tires in the back

and btw, check out the windshield banner and the stickers on the doors that say D1 grand prix, I think they give those to a lot of guys building show cars...

also, the body kit is BNsports... on 'both cars', even though they're the same car.(dude, there's a sign covering up 90% of the bumper in the pic, how can you say it looks different when you can't even see it?).

the seats look 'EXACTLY' the same to me... as well do the mirrors... don't how you can even see them that well to think that there's something different about them...

you realize stickers are easy to change? and paint, as these cars tend to get damaged pretty often.

Stickers and bumpers change according to the race season. New parts get messed up, and stickers get torn apart. So, yes sometimes you'll see different parts here and there. By the way rivets are ok could of done a lil bit better though, maybe not so many. And the bottom of those over fenders looks a little weird when it meets the rest of the body. Overall it aint bad. Keep us posted.

Not a fan of the way rivets look... but that's me. If they serve a function though, go for it.

fenders are from raceonusa.com they say 30mm, but they end up being 50mm. I only need 30, so my rears are now tucked under alittle

If you properly treat the hardware and use good cadmium plated rivets, there shouldn't be a problem with corrosion. All types of metal will corrode if not properly taken care of.

Now i wouldn't see a problem with looks if maybe you used countersunk rivets. Did you use button heads?

as previously stated..... the pink fd is not just a show car (although it is a beautiful sight to see in person)... its a multi-tasker..... i personally witnessed it at vegas speedway in d1 drifting.... and they were having problems because they said the suspension was still set up for road coarse.. so shes driven quite hard!

and ive never seen a drift team build a car just to show off while the other actually tracks!... if you go to a d1 event, you'll witness some of the most beautiful cars sitting in front of you.. then see some of them get destroyed on the track (it brought tears to my eyes... those.... poor......poor....volk wheels and ssr's, and works') i was suprised at how many were totaled troughout the day!

heres some pics i took of the vegas d1...
