Pusation dampner (cheaper than Mazda)

Hey people, I'm fairly new to the sight but not new to rotary power. I have owned a 3 rd gen , and now own a 90 vert and a 87 TII. Forgive me if I'm not posting in the right section but I have found a way to replace the pusation dampner (with another pulsation dampner) on my 87 TII for about half the cost of the Mazda part. It screws into the same location and looks just like the Mazda part . I know this has been covered before but if anyone is interested send me an email at txfatboy@comcast.net . I currently have this installed on my car with no problems. Thanks

hey txfatboy, if you want to get rid of that ticking time bomb called the pulsation dampner, I can sell you the banjo bolt that takes place of the PD.

is the PD as big of a problem on the S5's, or was that mainly an s4 problem?

I believe there a problem for both series, though to replace the PD on an s5 you need to get a new fuel rail = $$. for the S4 you can just unbolt the PD and replace it with a new one or a banjo bolt.

Do you have proof that the pulsation damper is absolutely necessary for proper operation of the fuel (injectors) system?

Yeah, I thought not...

Now, unless you have objective fact that this is true, you're just trying to play it safe arguing Mazda-did-it-so-it-has-to-be-right bullshit.
So how do you explain how dozens of FC's are running with the banjo bolt replacement of the stock pulsation damper?
I run it on my car.
I've replace dozens of stock pulsation dampers with banjo bolts on my customers' FC's.
There are dozens of FC owners on here that have done it also.
They all work.
So how do you explain that?

Yeah, I thought not...

So what's keeping you from posting your "useful" information on here?
Sounds like a scam or some commercial intent to me...

So all you can do is try and insult me?
Grow up boy...the kid's playground is around the corner.

Oh, and since you really suck at searching, here's some help:

Now go away...

The pulsation damper is common to many cars of this vintage, as well as newer cars (looks like the same unit is on the S2000). So just head to the wrecking yard and take a quick look to find another example...There are also aftermarket solutions available (see FAQ).

No need to be a jackass RETed (retard ?) Just offering up some info to help save a few bucks.

So whats the big, inexpensive pulstion dampner that you are running?

a dampner for another mazda? a ford? a generic?

And regardless of what you found....have you ever cut one open? its just a tube with a chamber and another tube.....Im SURE there are some inexpensive afmkt ones out there, so why is this such a new discovery?

New info another mazda vehicle uses the same PD: A FSDE engine fuel rail uses the same PD. I know this because I own both an S4 FC and Protege5. Stock protege fuel rails with a practically brand new PD are only about 25.00

He's most likely ripping them out at wrecking yards. fraction of the cost is right, especially when the PD is small enough that you could just pocket it and walk out.

but I'm with Ted in this one, the banjo bolt is a cheap and easy solution.
