pulsation dampner options
I have seen many posts concernig the pulsation dampner, as well as the banjo bolt modification.
Some people are pro, and some con, with many worried about deleting it and possibly endangering their (insert your thing here).
personally I just shitcanned it with the rest of the stock fuel system but some people wnat it are worried etc.
Has anybody considered replacing it with an inline pulsation dampner? here are the photos of an inline unit that subaru uses on the WRX's.
FYI the car pictured is a 2001 model here in japan.
cheers

Sure go ahead, if it fits and works. But a new OEM pulsation dampener will probably last just as long, or at least it'll last a very long time. Around 100k maybe. Main problem with banjo bolt is that it doesn't damp pulses, heh. Fluctuating fuel maps is bad for fuel economy, power and knock protection. Not that it won't still run fine usually.

symptoms include idle on one rotor (if it leaks into vac lines) , no or very hard start up, weird timing, and smoothing out after a considerable amount of throttle.

Search 'Banjo Bolt Mod'...and then promptly go buy one for yourself and install it via instructions on one of the write-ups provided by other successful members. You'll be fine.
I just simply cannot look at a Pulsation Dampener and think to myself: 'Wow! That little piece of Carbeque-starting **** is worth it's MASSIVE price! So amazing...just wow!' .
My only word of advice, whether you're using the OEM piece of a Banjo Bolt substitution is that you carefully clean the mating surfaces before putting anything back together. Do not re-use any crush washers. Do not ask why, just know that you shouldn't.
If you want the full debate, then you will find a massive thread about the whole thing.

There is always the Marren pulsation damper that you could use. They're kinda pricey and require modification to the stock fuel rail to fit but will be worth it if you really want that reliability.
