pulsation damper and dreaded vacuum hoses

so, after all the fun i had getting my 87 gxl started after rebuild, the pulsation damper decided to finally start leaking fuel. I was reading up on it and found a bunch of people saying to put a banjo bolt in, and that one article that even links you to summit racing. so of course i bought one and tossed it on. now, for some reason, my injectors seemingly refuse to seat properly and just DUMP gas out at all the seams. i've pulled them and reset them a couple of times and they just don't seem to want to act right.

the injectors are all remans, but i JUST got them, and they were working fine before the damper failed.

has anyone done the banjo swap? any problems? i can only assume this is the cause of the injectors leaking, though i don't understand how. my next step is to buy a replacement damper and see if the problem is magically solved.

however...when i was in there with the dynamic off and all, i noticed some...interesting...hose routes. you know the middle nipple on the intake chamber?

for some reason my EGR was routed to that. i don't think that was correct, but then there was this short hose right beside the EGR that wasn't connected to anything. i checked the diagram as best i could and i think they belonged together, pic below:

then i also found this nipple right below the primary injectors that i THINK is a vent for those injectors? is THAT supposed to be connected to the center nipple on the dynamic chamber?

last but not least, this (the large 90 degree bend nipple):

routes to this random box of nothing:

which is all the way up against the firewall on passenger side. is that correct and what the hell is that bucket for?!

last question: in the vacuum diagram in the FSM there is a "vacuum switch" teed into the boost sensor. i can't find that damned thing on the car and my boost sensor (or what i think is that) is just directly attached to the nipple on the front of the dynamic chamber below that big 90 degree turn one above. where is this switch located?

p.s. sorry for the giant photos.

The last two pics are associated w/the sub zero cold assist unit which does not work as initially designed so you can cap off the 90 degree turn tube shown in the next to last pic.

i would move any possible leaking injector to the secondary position so you can get an eye on them and make life easier in trying to diagnose and repair the problem, without the need to remove the UIM to even get at them.

it is possible to have an injector leak from the body of the injector but that is a rather uncommon issue, if it is the case contact the shop that serviced them and have them find you replacements(which should be free, because injectors don't just magically leak externally).

Are you sure you have the right injector insulators and o-rings?

in the picture everything appears proper but we can't see the most important pieces, the o-rings sealing the injectors to the rails. many people try to install them dry and roll the o-rings slicing them up.

whats crazy is that before the PD went, they weren't leaking at all. we had the car running fine for probably 2 weeks just diagnosing and fixing minor things, then teh PD went and all hell broke loose when i put the banjo in.
