Pulling the fuse to start the car trick

Is there any way to permanently fix this problem? It is an every day occurence for me. It happens EVERY time I start my car, unless I let it sit for 3+ hours. EVERY DAMN TIME.

I read somewhere there is an issue with the ECU. Can I replace the ECU with one that didn't have this issue ... did the S5's have this issue? Is the S5 ECU compatible with the S4 (t2) ... probably not.

If I went stand-alone, will that eliminate this problem? The couple thousand dollars would be worth ending the annoyance.

Or .... is it possible to relocate the fuse box that is under the hood, to somewhere in the interior, so I don't have to pop the hood twenty times a day?

buy NEW injectors or send them out to get cleaned and blueprinted.

Instead of buying a standalone to avoid this minor annoyance, just run a toggle switch for the fuel pump into the car, and crank it a little before turning the pump on.

Why do you have to pull the fuse to start your car??? because the engine is loading up and fouling the spark plugs with gas???? If this is the case then there are only a few things you need to do and jimmy rigging it isnt one of them. Take Mad RX7racer's advice and start with the injectors. At the same time buy new sparkplugs. If that doesn't fix the problem then you have other HOT /COLD start problems at which time it would be a good idea to purchase a factory workshop manual, it will walk you thru the diagnosis steps to find your problem.

Ok, if I buy new injectors... would going with GReddy 720cc's for both my Primary and Secondaries be a good idea? I will replace the spark plugs at the same time.

i ran 680 GSL-SE for primary and 720 secondary injectors in my 87 TII ran great, dont really see a problem with 720 all around. I had the boost bumped up to 12 psi with a cone filter and one cat in the exhaust

If you go to all large injectors you're going to need a S-AFC or similar to adjust the mix for the bigger injectors. This means dynoing the car with a wideband and someone who knows what they are doing.

Not totaly true... Do a search on large injectors, you will find a lot of people have had good results with just large injerctors. All I had was a Racing beat FCD (which isnt really needed) Boost controller( i used a manual one), K&N cone filter and removed all but the last cat in the exhaust. Worked fine at 12lbs boost. If your gonna start getting into fuel computers then you might as well look into stand alone computers. Vex do a search on "Large Injectors" when you have some time and educate yourself on the pros and cons. There are some interestings threads on the subject

I've had good luck with a tip that I got from Rx7.com.....when you're about to turn the car off, hold the RPMs at 3000, turn off the ignition while simultaneosly flooring the gas pedal. I've not had to do the fuse trick since.

so basically you are running pig rich and still recommend that he NOT get at least a piggy back?

1. get the larger injectors but also get some sort of fuel management....so you can TUNE your car to use the injectors properly......what's the point of having an upgraded fuel system if it's not going to work to 100% efficiency?

because that is like taking a wine bottle cork to plug a hole in the dam.......sure it will work fine for now but it will eventually lead to other problems...........
