Prospective buyer with some specific ebay questions

Hey guys. I thought for sure I was not going to head down the rotary route, but I'm looking for a ride quick (my other car has more transmission problems then its worth) and I found a nice TT for sale on ebay. The link to the auction is:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...4425101&rd=1,1
I see that he's sold some other cars, and I was just wondering if anyone who ever bought from him post here, and what their experience was.

I've never seen a TT that didn't have a spoiler, but the VIN says it should be a factory turbo right? Its about 5-6 hours from me, but I think it might be doable.

Thanks for the help and maybe soon Ill be a regular at this board.

It's not a TT, it's a Turbo II. It's not twin turbo'd. That's the FD.
I've heard some good things about them from some friends of mine, so I know they aren't a bunch of crazies trying to scam everyone. I met one of the guys at NOPI last year and we talked about his turbo vert, which he has since sold I'd imagine. I've seen it for sale on eBay, and it was for sale then (at NOPI). Very clean motor swap on it I must say, so if they put that much effort into that TII, then I'd say go for it.

That guy is forever buying stuff and then trying to resell it for 4 times as much.

Anyway, I can't speak to his sales abilities, engine building or mechanical skills, but these guys can:

I would say you should check the car out IN PERSON before committing to buy. As with any major purchase, of course.

A lot of early 87 turbo II cars came light on options...no wing, no PS, etc.

I'd be very careful about buying cars from a place like this if you have no idea what you're getting yourself into.

Funny, the VIN checks out as a 1988 model.
The left and right badges on the rear peg it as a 1988 model.
The wheels peg it as a 1988 model.
But it has no rear spoiler?
I always though all 1988 Turbo II's came with the rear spoiler?

That front lip looks pretty banged up - hints of a front end accident?
The only other thing I could find in the pics that looks bad is:
How it the battery being held down in the engine bay???

Based on Vin check:

Accident Data: Accident Data Record(s) Reported to AutoCheck

So yeah, check it in person if you can.
