Proper O-Ring/Gasket Names

I'm a programmer, not a mechanic and I've recently been put in a situation where I had to take the front housing off of the engine. Now I'm working on putting things back together and want to replace anything that looks worn on the way out. There are some parts that I have no idea what to call them (even the Haynes just says "o-ring"). Usually, somewhere like AutoZone is able to figure out what you mean when you describe the part or bring them the old part, but it's been my experience that when I mention Rotary in one of those stores the eyes just glaze over.

Is there somewhere that I can find the official names or part numbers for the various little o-rings and gaskets I'm finding? I need the names/parts of:

-The o-ring located inside (or on the end of) the e-shaft.
-The o-ring on the end of the e-shaft bolt itself.
-The gasket(s) to put the water pump back together.

I did some searching/reading and found various names and descriptions for these parts but I would love to be able to call the Mazda dealer tomorrow and just give them a list of things I need.

Thanks!

If you can make a personal appearance at the dealership, have them pull up the exploded parts list and point out each part you need. That way there are no mistakes.

^^^ that would be the smart way of doing it...

they have exposed diagrams of each part on their computer
it is better to get the correct part, then get the wrong part and buy it over and over agian - esp if you are not a mechanic

did you remember to get something to hold on the clutch pedal?

if not, if that eccentric shaft hub comes out at all... you will need to take out your front cover, counter weights, and reseat the needle bearings

Yea you need to check the Actual mazda manual if you want the proper names. I have posted the shop manuals in PDF on my site you can download them.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, by the time I knew something was wrong the bolt had already fallen out and I had to push it out of the road. Here's the original post explaining the entire ordeal: https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/eccentric-bolt-check-yours-today-433741/

I've got the front housing off and have checked the needle bearings and they look like they're supposed to (according to the pictures from http://www.mazdatrix.com/faq/pulley.htm). Now I'm just trying to get things back together without screwing up and creating a new problem.

Go here: http://www.mazdaformance.com/rx7parts.htm and download the applicable year. The part is a o'ring and Mazda has a special part number for it, but don't expect Autozone to recognize it. Mazdatrix will, but not Pepboys.

Wow, HAILERS! That's exactly what I've been looking for. Thanks a ton. That link should definitely be in the FAQ!
