Project Racecar **PICS!!**
well guys as everyone knows here i think lol i sold my 1988 TurboII and bought myself a 1978 LandCruiser and i decided to keep my rotary heart =) and build myself a trackcar this is a budjet racecar between 3 friends heres a couple of pics of how i first got the car and ill give you a little run down on the car ok? lol =)
neways at first my bodyguy bought an 86 base model rx7 for $700 the previous owner couldnt get it running and my body guy knew i loved rx7's and knew wtf i was doing so he brought it to me and i figured out that there was a bad fuel pump we replaced it with an old turboII fuel pump i had and what do ya know fired right up we ll the car had a little rust on the floor so he decided to fix it and then hell sell the car.. well it came time that he didnt really try to sell it and the car sat in my backyard for about 4 to 5 months since i sold my car i told him id offer him $400 the way it is he said ok and well i moved it from my backyard into my bay and decided to work on it
we stripped everything and all the junk it had inside and got that thing running again had a messed up alt and no gas =) so i replaced the alt connected the battery charger and put about 1/4 tank of gas in and boom fired right up... i shut it off changed the oil, flushed the radiator and installed a short ram intake after that it was time to start stripping the car to nothing so thats where we are now heres a few pics hope you enjoy it ill give you guys another run down later of when we finish everything else...

there was a full turboII interior in it but most of the piece in it were broken so oviously it was all trash from there =)

this is after removing all the tar n **** and sanding it down and spraypainting it a semi-flat black

dash is almost out and gonna replace it with the grey on you see and while the dash is out remove all the junk thats behind there and install some aftermarket gauges

removed sunroof assembly and will be welding the sunroof shut

heres some engine bay shots after i did everything and replaced some vac lines that were cracked i will be removing emmisions in about a week and cleaning up the engine bay more...

Not bad looks exactly like one I found for my buddy except his is an 88 GXL. I wish I had an FC like that just for track use and keep the one I have for my daily. Good job can't wait to see what you get done to it.

I made a lil box out of sheet metal and put that around the filter, then I took out my washer fluid bottle and ran a air dryer tube from the front bumper up to the intake. Cost me only $10 and works great!
This is BY FAR the best DIY intake mod I have seen. Check it out.

and reason was i had an 88 turboII with a bunch of mods more mods than i can think of was very fast i used to do alot of drag racing and well it backfired on me and i got arrested and had to bail myself out also bail the car out of the impound costing me about $1000 in that plus now i have to pay court fees that isnt going to be fun at all but i decided to sell the car for what it was worth and get myself into a sport that isnt illegal and is still fun so i decided to purchase a car that my dad had back in the day when he went offroading and mudding so we could both have a good time and have fun with the car....
