Project 10AE: fuel delivery questions

Some of you may have already figured out that I'm working on my project 10AE. My goal is 350-400 HP with a street port, T04,and Haltech. I've got a good idea about what I'm doing but would really apreciate some advice and opinions from more experianced rotorites.

I need a fuel system to suport 350-400 hp. What all do I need?
fuel pump? Walbro.
Injectors? what would be my optimal set up? Fuel rail? FPR?
What else?

What are the advantiges of using a third gen intake?

Thanks,

Mike

Cosmo fuel pump or aftermarket.

I've seen 550/1600, 550, ~800, etc..

Re: 10th AE Project...

I also have a 10th AE project...
Same setup....
Upgrade:
1. Fuel pump
A. External- (requires sump in bottom of tank)
(requires steel braided lines, adjustable regulator
and pump)
Benefits: able to run race fuel and to run boost over
20 psi!!
B. Stock Location- Walbro
2. Injectors
Pri- 550
Sec- 1600 (requires moded fuel rail)
The T04 series have a tendency to run lean at
high boost....
3. Haltech or Wolf....

Thanks. thats the kind of info I'm looking for. I was thinking an external pump set up. Wich pump are the external guys running?
Wich FPR is good for this set up?

Is there anybody that builds the rail I need or would I have to have it made?

Glad to hear there are so many people working on AE's. For there to be so few made there sure are a lot on this forum.
I'm asking all of the questions now so hopefully I won't make any mistakes. . When I'm finished with mine I'm going to have it painted back to original color but I'm thinking about putting a blue pearl in it.

Thanks again,
Mike

Buy this:

2 160 lb/hr injectors (1680cc) from www.precisionte.com
1 SX 1:1 fuel pressure regulator
1 small VDO FPR gauge for the FPR
1 RX7.com competition fuel pump.
1 modified secondary fuel rail

Use the new injectors in your secondary fuel rail. Install the fuel pump in the stock location and plumb in the new FPR.

YOu do not need external fuel pump or any of that jazz... you can make over 450 rwhp AT LEAST with this fuel setup...

oh yeah, but a haltech too

I'm doing the same deal (cept with a BPort).

Thanks for the advice Kurgan. The initial advice I got on the pump is to go with the Aeromotive 1000. Its about $40 more than the RP (from Summit or Jegs), and appears to pump more fuel - 500 lbs. (or 83 gal.)per hour @ 12 volts and 45 psi. But, it'll require some extra $ for the -10 lines...

Looks like the RP Comp pump is the ND in-tank. Same one SR sells for $259. Nice thing is, its a drop-in. I like easy... Sold!

Do we need a 10AE forum too

All best,
S

I've heard that the Walbro pump is an excellement drop in replacement.... Supports up to 450 hp...

As for the Secondary rail K2RD sells the rails moded to fot 1600 injectors....

"Wich FPR is good for this set up?"quoted from stinkfist
I would like to know as well....

The aeromotive pump is loud and you don't need it for up to 500 rwhp. I've known of several people running over 500 rwhp with RP comp fuel pump...

as far the question about the fuel pressure regulator, look up a few posts, I said to go with the SX 1:1... its a good unit. I hear malpassi makes a good one as well, but I'm running the SX.
