Problems with the Throttle.... Kind of weird

Well last night I was trying to jump another 7 with my car and anyways when I was driving home I noticed that the car was holding a heavy idle (2500rpm) I was kind of weirded out but then when I would go to shift gears, it would jump in the RPM's and then I knew something was wrong - was on a busy street so I made it home... It appears that the throttle is stuck somehow...

Looked at the TB today and it was the same as it has been the last 2 weeks, checked the throttle cable and didn't notice anything pulling on the throttle... Checked the pedal and tried pulling it back up for the sake it might be stuck down.. Nope

So now when you start the car it automatically jumps up to 4k rpm and keeps trying to go higher in the rpms :|

Any ideas on what's wrong? :\

You either have an air leak in your intake system or a vacuum leak somewhere.Probably a bad intake gasket.

And air leak would make the engine rev like that? I mean I don't know, the throttle isn't engaged at all and it still revs up, even when driving it'll rev up to 5k or so when I engage the clutch to shift gears... I mean the car didn't do that before and it just now started :\ sigh

That's one thing I did do.. The top 2 plates are closed, but the bottom one is just a little notch open. I never really looked at it before, but I figured that it would be open a little bit to let into the engine while it idles so other than that, maybe I'm wrong and it should be closed and not open ( even a little )

Is the 2500rpm really rough? Or is it smooth but high?

It's not 2500 rpm..

I only stated 2500 because it felt like it was idle, when it started moving up into the 4000 + range I got a bit worried and when I finally made it home it was going to redline and I had to finally shut the car off and coast the rest of the way home in neutral... Starting the car it still jumps up to 4000 rpm at which point it just starts to sputter off but still moves up the power band..

Kicking on the pedal to try and release it doesn't work, I've checked the tb front and back and it doesn't seem like it's being pulled open.. The throttle cable is a little loose because it's old and worn so it has some play before it actually catches the plate to open the TB up.. So I'm not sure what's going on here....
