Problems with my new FC please help!

Hi I just got a '91 TII FC and I was driving around town when all of a sudden the car starts hesitating under full acceleration well I didn't think much of this when the car stalled after I put it out of gear. When I try to start it again it doesn't start but after much trial it finally start, as I'm trying to leave I see that while I'm accelerating the I'm not getting any power and my boost guage is freaking out but still reading boost kinda. Well now it starts but doesn't want to idle it just stalls, once in a while it'll hold idle at bout 200 rpm but thats it and I'm still having the power loss problems it only happens when I'm under 4k rpm but above that its fine my turbo used to spool up at about 3200 rpm but now it take till like 4500 to work. PLEASE HELP!!! (I've checked all the vacuum lines and eveything is hooked up good, but it did this while I was low on gas is there any possibility that it could have something to do wih air in my fuel lines or something with the fuel system or my ecu settings?)

Holy run on sentences Batman!

Is that a real pic of your car?
Man, I'm surprised it hasn't been stolen by now.

What Octane gas were you runnin

AND..... NEVER...... NEVER.... EVER... boost under 1/8 of a tank (unless you have a sumped tank)..... I don't get hard on it under 1/4.. (I have actually WATCHED my fuel pressure gauge DROP under hard acceleration under 1/4 of a tank in 1st and 2nd gear... this ALSO corresponded to a RAISE in A/F ratio on the haltech datalog.... thak GOD I was running 100 Ooctane and only 12PSI at the time... 12.5 A/F is TOOO Lean for me under boost!!) I NEVER let the car go under 1/4 tank anymore.

A third gen buddy didn't listen to me..... and boosted 20 PSI when he was on Empty.... a new motor and a sumped tank later... and he now understands that sometimes FC owners know what the hell they are talking about..... (a sumped tank isn't an easy or cheap thing to do... it requires 1) getting somebody to fabrticate and weld in the sump 2) a new fuel pump like an Areomotove 1000, and plumbing from the tank to the front.

There was a good post a while back about NOT HAMMERING THE CAR UNDER 1/4 TANK If you were low on fuel and boosting, especially in second gear... the fuel can slosh to the back of the tank and you'll loose fuel pressure and.... kah-pingo!

Guess what junior....

Check your compression.......

Dollars to Dognuts you blew the motor....

maybe you are misunderstanding us. you need to redo the compression as you may have blown an apex seal(which is what it sounds like from your symptoms). when one blew on the car i was thinking about driving it felt the same(save it wasn't a turbo) fortunately for me it blew while i was testdriving the car and not after i purchased it. if you don't have access to a compression tester easy thing to do is pull the EGI(i think that's it) fuse under the hood and pull the trailing plug from a rotor then crank it over. you should hear 3 equal wooshes. if one is a lot stronger than the other two you have a blown apex. if all 3 are equal put the plug back in and remove the trailing plug from the other rotor and repeat. i'd put money on an apex being blown

does your boost gauge bounce back and forth violently ??? this can be a pretty tell tail sign of blown apex seals and it sounds really funky?? and doesnt make any power??

Ok the car is in the shop for an engine rebuild and might be done by next week! One last thing; My friend decided that he would take it upon himself to try and get the headlight to go up (put the fuse back in) when the front bumpers isn't designed for that so now they are stuck in a halfway up position, how do I get them to go back down?

there should be a manual crank/thumbscrew on the light itself (not sure though i know there is one on my s2 fb), perhaps underneath somekind of a rain guard.

umm, that also sounds like a fuel filter that may be clogged with crap from the bottom of your tank

Ok the shop is actually a sort of garage that my friend owns he has owned and worked on over 30 rx7's of all generations. He is trying to find out the problem right now starting with the small stuff up to a full tear down if need be. I would do most of the small stuff myself but I have no time because of school. So I will figure out the problem and try to get the car running as soon as possible. Oh and if this helps at all when the problem happened alot of oil was leaking and when we tried to restart it I could smell gas (heavy smell).
