Arrow problems installing walbro fuel pump

Ok well when i first installed my walbro It was a little harder to get the lid closed than with the stocker but i didnt pay any mind to it. Well my filthy tank clogged up the walbro and now im tryna find a replacement strainer. Every strainer available at strauss/autozone sits too low and wont allow me to screw the tank lid back. IS there anythign i can do to make it fit without hurting the assembly? Does anyone know a part number of a strainer that fits right with this pump?

that doesn't make any sense, because the whole assembly can't be stretched... and the strainer that you get at autozone is smaller than the stock one.

Maybe it just feels like the lid wont go down all the way. Mine did this when I changed the strainer. Just push down with a little more pressure and start screwing in the screws like you would put on a tire.

Maybe you keep getting the fuel level sensor stuck?

Ok when you compare the assemblys side by side the walbro strainer is about 3-4mm longer, than the stocker, the autozone strainer is about 6mm longer than the walbro. The strainer itself is smaller but the neck of it that plugs into the pump is longer.

you could try pushing the pump up higher? It has to fit with that rubber grommit. If it doesn't something isnt right.
