Problems with idle, shifting

1990 RX-7 "japanese model" Idles high, shift into drive, idle goes down to 250 rpm if the a/c is on, it stalls. Exhaust is hot " creates smoke inside car. tranny is out of an 1988, electrics are different, but the car atleast moves now. any info would really help. I live in Japan, and the language barrier doesn't help me a bit.

BAC valve is bad or dirty.

Smoke inside and extra heat would indicate that the shifter inner and outer seals are torn. Replace "J" and possibly "C" in the picture:

Thank you, already cleaned and ohmed out the BAC, its good. The smoke is coming from stuff melting cause of the hot exhaust, just wondered if someone knew alittle about the idle. Thank you for the help
