I am swapping in a transmission and drivetrain from an 87 TII into my 90 GTU. While the stuff is out I am swapping in a new 12.5 lb flywheel, a new counterweight, and a new Racing Beat clutch. They just called me and said that I need a bigger pressure plate.

Is this true? If so where would you suggest getting a new pressure plate?

 

K. I've answered my own question. But I still don't know which year to buy one for.

 

For counterweights, you need to tell them if it's series 4 or 5. Then for the flywheel, you need to tell them it's for a turbo.

 

Sorry, I see my answer is ambiguous. You need to tell them if the ENGINE is series 4 or 5 for the counterweight.

 

I've got everything right BUT the pressure plate. I don't know to pick one up for a S4 or 5.
