Problem Starting The Car. Ticking Noise.
When I went to go start my 91 n/a coupe today it started to turn over but very weak for 1 sec then it just made a bunch of clicking sounds. I redid the battery terminals and got rid of the coroded wires and it still does the same thing. The voltometer gauges reads the mark right under 12 so im guessing its like 10 volts. What's going on here? What should the volt gauge read with the ignition on? And when I turn my lights on it drops like way low almost to no voltage.

How old is your battery? Is the ticking noise you hear kind of like a clicking noise?
If it sounds like a clicking it could be your starter solenoid. Happened to me in my FC until I put a brand new battery in with plenty of CCA.

It's a clicking noise yes. Not sure on age of battery just picked the car up a month ago. Should I swap my TII battery in there and see if it works or is it the wrong battery? The posts are slightly slimmer then the one's on the n/a's battery and the TII one has the distiled water in it where the other one doesn't I think. Would that matter? Thx!
