Problem with starting the car

Sometimes my car wont start. It wont even crank up. I would have to keep on trying to start it like 15 times before it would crank up and start. What could be the problem?

Bad battery, bad starter, bad connections to starter, bad ignition switch, bad clutch sensor, other.

Hmm.... try checking the basics first!

Are you getting spark? Fuel? Checked vacuum hoses for leaks?

Turbo or N/A? S4 or S5.

That's WAY too bland of a description dude.

sounds like you are saying that the starter motor is not spinning when you turn the key to "start" position. You keep turning it from "on" to "start" several times and then it finally spins the starter motor and the car starts as normal after that, right? If this is right, then do you have a fairly large bundle of keys with your car key? Perhaps the switch is bad. me...I would not take that ****, I'd just buy a W-Body.
