Problem with spark plugs, can anyone help?

Hi guys,

I have a 1989 model series 5 (13B turbo),
I have a problem with it not starting,
The first time it happen was three weeks ago,
I changed the spark plugs that day and it was all fine till this week.

Today when i removed the plugs, i noticed that there is alot of oil on the tip of plugs. And my whole engine bay just smells of fuel. I use the NGK plugs.

Is it possible for the injected motor to flood? or the oil mixture is not right?
I cant find out what the problem as it was not consistent,
I can push start it before, but today it would just not kick over.
The car drives full normal, does not blow smoke, no problems with boost,
new oil and filter less then 500kms

Has anyone had this same problem, any info would be great, as this is driving me crazy!!

Thanks

Paul

these motors are easy to flood, did u try flooring it while cranking??, on an s5 that will cut fuel to help prevent flooding

I check all the leads and plugs,
the are all perfect,
what i discovered is that the plugs have fuel on them
and also oil/water(milky brown colour).

Are the seals gone?

It could be just condensation.

If you catch a leaking coolant seal early, the copper type radiator sealer may by you some time.

Also - If you smell fuel, check the fuel lines & rails for a leak before you have a fire.

have you checked to see if the plugs are fouled? set them against a good ground and watch them as you crank. you may need new ones or to thoroughly clean those with a wire brush and solvents.

sounds like you need to follow some hardcore unflooding procedures.

One trick i tried when my car was really flooded is i took off the intake and put some injector cleaner in the tb, and cranked it and after a few more unflooding tries... it worked. I dunno.
