problem or not?
when I start my car it rews up to 3k rpms and then it drops to bellow 1 thousand when it warms up. Then it stays steady in 800`s with out going up nor down(it doesn`t turn off).
Is it good or bad for the rotaries to have them maintain timing under 1k when in neutral?
thanx guys

that is perfect, not just normal, but perfect. it goes to 3000 for about 15 sec for accelerated warm up, then it should eventually idle at 800rpm. that is the factory setting and i see no reason why mazda would set it at a harmful rpm. imo its perfectly fine.

If I'm not mistaken rpm should be 750 +/-25, once it levels off. The 3k rpm is just part of the warming up process, mine goes to 2500 and then to 1k and finally settles at around 750. If you don't want it to start that way place the car in gear when you start it up.
