Problem with my new TurboII

i just bought an 88 Turbo II about 2 weeks ago.
the only prob that i know of is that it has a small vaccume leak somewhere near the firewall on the passenger side. it also idles really low and sputters sometimes but i think this is because of the vaccume leak.
the reason that i am posting is that sometimes it doesnt want to start. it will crank over just fine, but it doesnt want to fire. (kinda like im out of gas) but when i push start it, it starts up just fine. this has happened many times in the 2 weeks ive been driving the car. sometimes when i go to start it, it will act like its not gonna start and then sputter a little and the fire up.

anyone got any ideas about why this is happening

im gonna park the car day after tomorrow, and start driving my 88 GTU again because the TII needs tires and because of this problem. so no rush. but any info will help. thanks

It sounds like its flooding. Flooding can be due to low compression and/or leaky injectors.

i was kinda thinking that in the back of my mind... kinda
so... pull the .... EGR fuse, i think its called, when it does that, crank it over a few more times, then put it back in and try again?

It's the EGI fuse. Yea that is an unflooding method. Here is some more info http://rotaryresurrection.com/flooding.html
