Another thing to do is remove all the fuses powered by the BTN fuse (listed in a previous post) and then retest the W/R wire for voltage.

The Seat Belt fuse and the Fogs fuse are also powered by the BTN fuse.

Cannot find the actual S5 FSM wiring diagram, but try this, cuz it has circuit diagrams:

http://wright-here.net/files/manuals...Electrical.pdf

Go to the correct section and do the troubleshooting. Has pics that help. see pages 50, 53 and others neaby.

Got the car working again yesterday. im u sure as to what specifically fixed the issue. After studyin the fuse block it occured to me moving the fuse one slot over would not change anythin unless there was physically a crack in the plate within. As ive foud out the fuse block is essentially a metal plate the length of the box and has prongs at the bottom. the power (80amp) main fuse simply acts as the fuse for all the other ones. the two power wires that bolt to the main fuse spreads power across the block. I played with the W/R wires ends where it goes into both the plug and the back of the interior fuse box.

heres the kicker. niether my s4 tii or my cousins s5 gtus have stickers on our covers. so i ASSUMED all fuses were same as mine and I realized something...i was testing the wrong slot and the BTN fuse was not in the right spot the whole time. Put it all back toogether and Voila. good as new.

Everything worked again....except the passive seatbelts are now working intermittently. I thought it was simply the case of misplaced fuse but I explained to my cousin what i did and he said a week prior the factory alarm went crazy on him so he panicked and pulled the engine bay fuses till it stopped. One would assume he put it in the wrong spot but these problems didnt happen until recently which is odd.

Nonetheless everythings in workin order for the most part.
thanks for all the ideas and help guys. ill keep this updated for a couple days to wait it out and see if it acts up again!

probably just didn't notice it, the problem likely arose when he misplaced the fuse obviously. had to of.

actually i believe i did the same thing once but quickly realized the error i caused and moved it back to its home.

I knew it was going to be something silly that would lead to the solution.

Lol glad its good. There are pics of the fuse covers I think in the stickies or somewhere online. May want to print and tape it to the cover or put it on ur "things to grab at junkyard" list. Make sure the right amp. fuses are at the right locations.
