Problem with 2ndary injectors..

While putting my intake back together, I seemed to have lost one of the "caps" that go onto the end of the injectors. I believe they are called pinacle caps. Anyway, so I ordered a new one from mazdatrix. I go to put in on, and it seems very very snug, but I thought maybe thats just the way a new one is supposed to fit, so I squeezed it on. It did seat all the way, like the other one. I now put it in, installed the fuel rail, bla bla bla put everything back together. I go to start the car, and fuel is just spraying out of that injector, at the base where it goes into the manifold. IM like WTF.. So I take it all back apart, make sure it is seating properly (also have new grommets and o-rings for the injectors). Everything seems fine, so I bolt it all back together, and it is still doing the same thing. Only on that injector on which I got the new cap. Is it possable that they couldve sent me the wrong cap? I wasnt sure if there was even a difference in caps from N/A to turbo... Any one have any ideas? Im probably going to end up emailing mazdatrix and possably ordering another one.

The pintle caps are all the same, and yes, they are a very tight fit. I normally CAREFULLY use a vice to put them on. Strange that fuel would be spraying from the BOTTOM of the injector. It should be coming from the top. Is the injector physically damaged in some way? Cracked? Or is the top O-ring leaking and just making it LOOK like it's coming out the bottom?

Ive have to check on that, and have someone else start it so I can watch to see exactly where it is leaking. No, the injector is not damaged or cracked. Thanks, Ill reply as soon as I find out anything.

You know, if you jump the fuel pump test connector (yellow 2 pin connector near passenger shock tower) the fuel pump will run whenever the key is on the "ON" position. That way, you can find your leak.

The odds that an injector O-ring will be reuseable are not that good. (maybe 90%)
It's a good idea to have spares handy anytime you pull a fuel rail.

Yea, always check if it is leaking anytime you take off the rails via the yellow jumper by the tower.
If you're still using the original o-rings that sits inside the manifold, you should change them. I used 3/8" fuel injected hose and that fits perfectly and very snug. I haven't had any problems for years on the same pieces.
They might be more prone to heat than the regular o-rings . It hasn't hardened any so far. Just cut to the original size and you're done.
