Question Problem @ 7000 Rpm

I just got this 87 tII (bone stock as far I know)

my problem is this. regardless of the gear when im @ about 7000 rpm and the turbo is @ its full vacume the car acts as though it is missing or the fuel is cutting off.

Do RX&'s have a fuel cut off programed in to the CPU???

Can this be adjusted with out having to spend any money???

Most importantly I would like to fix the problem but would like to keep the car as stock as possible. Im willing to spend some money but im not tring to win any races.

To my knowledge 2nd gen 7's have a ecu fuel cutoff @ 7000rpm. Getting an aftermarket ecu would removed the limiter.

Hey! TheBigOne.........I noticed you say its bone stock, and you live in CAlifornia. I'd check and see if the exaust has a catalytic converter and if the downpipe directly after the turbo is stock or not. Reason I ask, is I think California has rather stiff emissions laws. Your hitting fuel cut, but I really don't think thats possible with a stock exaust. So when its time to do the emissions test, you might not be able to pass if the catalytic converter isn't there. Also you mentioned in a pm that your fixing to make a fuel cut defender(fcd). Maybe someone else who is reading this can give TheBigOne some advice on a boost gauge, fuel pump and why its needed if you have a fcd and anything else he might have a need for.

As far as i know its bone stock. in fact i did check under the car last night and I did see a catalytic converter. I believe its supposed to be 3 small cats but i just have one medium sized cat. I'll have to check the down pipe. what should it look like if its a stock down pipe???
