If its any cosolation, you are going to have to just accept other peoples opinions. You did ask what they thought, and you are getting honest, yet, somewhat aggravating answers. Welcome to the forum. Me personaly, and not that it matters, I think those ''lenses'' would look better on a 95 neon with a huge wing on the back and a R-racing visor sticker.

I had a black 90gtu. I would have never done anything to alter the appearance of the *** end of that car. Thats one of the best attributes of these cars. Especially s5's. But the important and only thing that matters is how do you like them.

So, did you get your electrical issue solved? It's a shame that a "short" could cause your lenses to become factory looking, before they tinted them. Oh well, you could always sue the Japanese for their cold solder points!

I'm not sure how yours are "finished", but I assume for several dollars worth of supplies, ANY s5 taillight could be converted to look like yours. Again, there's a reason why it's rare to see them done (like yours). Also, I highly doubt those are street legal. Who told you that?

I will admit that this thread has gotten outta hand. Now werewitnessing geographical profiling......Sad. But on a lighter note, now we are pretty much agreeing that these ''lenses'' are totally wack. But lets leave the hick, and southern jokes outta this.

You do not have clear lenses. You have modified, technically BROKEN and ILLEGAL Series 5 RX-7 taillights. Clear lenses are aftermarket lenses, MADE clear, and are made available to anyone who wants their car to look, quote, "Euro" -- please note, 9/10's of the cars in Europe do not have these "Euro" tails. It is just like the word JDM, no one even know's what it's true meaning is supposed to be.

Pull you're lights off, throw them away. FIRST, beat them with a hammer so no one gets them at a junkyard accidently. Buy UNMODIFIED (Unless it's eriksseven mod) S5 taillights. Install. Stop trying to be unique, as that WON'T HAPPEN unless you custom fab something of you're own. If you buy something, majority of the time there will have been quite a few of those products made, as most people don't make one item and then sell it..



Unless of course, they noticed that what they did looked like total ***.
