WI Price Check Stock BBS Vert Wheels

Hey guys, looking at getting a set of these and wondering what a good market price is. Really like the bbs and found some for 320 on here but a local guy has a set with caps, wrench, and no curb rash or anything. Not sure of the rubber on them.

Thanks for looking and your estimates!

^^Worst one here

I sold a set complete with caps for something like $175. They were is "good" condition. People put too high a value on these skinny little wheels

I spent more money tracking down a set of 4 genuine caps than I did on the wheels. If you can find the wheels with the caps, get them.

I bought a set of 4 vert wheels with no caps, no tires, and no stems from a friend that needed the money for $100 cash. They were rough. Little to no rash but two of them have etching from brake dust/sand. Behind the spider they were coated in 15 years of brake dust/road tar. That took a minute to clean. Center caps were $70 a PAIR used, 'rough'. I bought genuine BBS inserts for the center caps. I think they were $35 each before shipping.

So... Round it up and I've got $400 in these damn things.

Thanks for the estimates, I mean sure do they look nice, yes. Do I want them, yes. I know they are skinny and small but the style is good and if all I gotta do is run to dude's house, give him money, bring home and install them, decent rubber I think, would that be worth ~$400-500 in anyones eyes?

Skinny is good for drifting ain't it? If not, ain't care.

I like the weight and the look..but the size..no.

Those tires are about 60 bucks US a piece,so you'll pay for what you get.

seems like im having a deja vu about cutting the rim in half and welding 6 inch alum pipe to make them 12.5.. they're 6 or 6.5 stock width?

oh i think i may have deleted my post about that because the offset would be like sooo wrong.. would require a 3 inch spacer, ewww

These wheels weren't made for a drift car anyway; I hate threads about vert wheels because they always seem to end with somebody whining about offset and tire width and then it just turns into a 'herrafrush' pissing contest. The demographic of person who puts these exact wheels on their car are not looking to spend a grand on suspension work, $1,500 on a set of Enkei's/Rays/SSR, etc. and the subsequent body work that ensues after fitment of wheels that are too big for the suspension they are attached to.

The kind of person that goes to the trouble of putting factory BBS vert wheels on just doesn't want to look at an overweight, brake dust encrusted set of bologna slicers. That is all. These are not a racing wheel. They were made for the vert for crap sake.

They are an Inexpensive upgrade to the Bologna slicers..But they look stylish..
I got mine for the style..the added bonus was they didn't weigh 18 or plus pounds.

Other than that, that is the maximum benefit of them.

They are a nice wheel but Meh..wouldn't trust them if they were gonna get abused.

I'm sorry to hear that. Why are you willing to overpay for 30 year old vert wheels, but buying some of the cheapest and junkiest coilovers available?

I'm not trying to offend, so please don't take it that way. I would suggest negotiating a fairer price on the wheels, or waiting for a better deal, and applying the difference to a better quality set of coilovers. You could always do a decent set of struts and springs if your budget is that tight, will be a much better choice than those coilovers.

I will look into that. Honestly I wanted some opinions on those and the search bar wasn't doing it any justice. I will probably see if anyone has a set of used shocks and springs on here cause yes, my budget isn't great and would like to be low before the snow flies and I have to park her.
