SC pretty sure it was a bad day

Well I had a noise that sounded like rod knock real light at idle and progressively gets louder as the rpms increase...thought for some reason it may of been bad pilot bearing, that was bad..but possibly a bad bearing inside the motor?

You've had a pretty damn good run if your TII's engine has 246,XXX miles on it.

Perhaps you could use a rebuild.

I recommend draining your oil and looking very closely for metal particulate before you start the car again.

I am not starting it..its sitting right where it is until I pull the motor.. It's just all very upsetting to me. not what I was looking forward to at 50k on the engine.

and this is the third motor.. I don't think ive heard of to many people keeping a turbo car past 150k.

I have my NA rx7 to drive in the meantime.

Lol. I made a rotary knock one time... That motor looked like somebody tossed a hand grenade in the intake port.

That is a bummer. You should inspect the oil as GoodFella had mentioned.

Ah... That is why I was so surprised at first.

Really, lets not jump to conclusions. You'd have to drain the oil to pull the engine anyway, why not inspect it before possibly doing more work than is necessary?

Yea, my original 147k t2 gave up the ghost last month. I suspect it was just old and tired, never heard/felt any knock whatsoever, and it blew all 6 apex seals.

Lol, the best part about them blowing up? Taking them apart and rebuilding them. So many options.
