Is there a way to check it? Can i just run a line off of the intake manifold to the fuel pressure regulator? wouldent that do away with the Pressure Regulator Solenoid Valve? My 87 turbo runs out of power just befor 6 grand. and has a stumble from 4 on up. i just dont know if this thing could be messing up makin me run out of fuel towards higher RPM's.

 

Failure of the FPR solenoid won't cause loss of power. If it fails it simply won't open and the FPR works normally, without its full pressure hot-start assist feature. A vac leak in any of the FPR lines could cause fuel pressure problems though, so check for leaks. Actually, just check your fuel pressure.
There's a test procedure for the FPR solenoid system in the FSM.

 

Can i just T into the fuel line any where to check the pressure? what kind of pessure should i see? My problem dont seem to be at idle how can i check it at high rpm's under a load?

Tee in b/t the fuel filter and the engine. At idle with the vac hose off the fuel pressure regulator you should have 35.6 to 37.0 psi. With the vac hose connected to the fuel pressure regulator, at idle, should have approx 28.4 psi. The gauge connected just to the outlet of the filter should yield 64-85.3 psi.
