whoa... my thead still does exist...

i thought it disappeared with the forum brokenness...

edit: oh and b4 we get the people telling me to whack the disc off or to use the pilot hole to drive the disc off... ive already heated, sprayed heavy penetrator, dented the living crap out of the disc... and... there is no pilot hole in which to push the disc off...

I used the bolt that holds the caliper on to drive the disc of, i'd tighten it as much as i possibly could, then beat the living **** out of it with a hammer, after an hour and a half, it came off.

Albeit I have an S5 and I did this on the rear, the proper way is to screw in one of the screws into the hole on the flat part of the rotor (theres a threaded hole that does not go through all the way) and use an impact screwgun to pop the rotor off.

get a bigger hammer! soak the egdes of the hub between the disc and hub. you did remember to remove the 2 screws that hold the disc to the rotor correct? remove the caliper and swing from behind, rotating the disc every few whacks. it took me like 25 min swinging a 5lb maul hammer like i was swinging for the fences. eventually itll give.

bigger hammer... thought my 5lbs sledge was good enough... but trying to swing a 20lbs sledge while laying under the car with out hitting other parts is ******* hard...

i did remember to remove the screws...

well... turns out i wouldnt have gotten them off on my own anyways... just got back from dropping them off at the shop... while i was there, the guys tried one out... and even at 10 tons it still wouldnt break loose... he ended up snapping part of the disc itself off!

wtf!

my disks were a bitch on my TII, we had to PB blast the **** out of them, let it sit. Pound the **** out of the back side and the front side to try and brake it loose. and evetualy we fired up the torch and heated some parts of the disk were it was against the hub red and beat the **** out of it. it took like two days.

I would check the junkyard first, since shipping would cost a decent amount.

I went through the same thing when I was doing my five lug conversion. I got the hubs from a junkyard, but the rotors were literally frozen on the hub. I tried everything. I managed to get them off using a shop press.

I put so much pressure on the hubs that the steel slabs that were holding the hubs were starting to bend. The rotors snapped in half and I used a hammer and a grinder to take the rest off. This was like a three day project to take off two rotors.
