Premix...MIXING how to???s.... and tank baffle??s

Okay this has been hashed and rehashed but I can't find exactly what I want to know. I have been premixing my gas and oil with "Quicksilver multipurpose 2-cycle engine lubricant" which seems to work well. But now I am tired of mixing it in a leaky/bulky 5 gallon container and then dumping the rest of the gas on top of it. I know the fuel tank has these rows of little walls in it, I am assuming those are some sort of attempt at preventing sloshing. If those prevent slosh, how can the 2-cycle oil mix properly and do its job if just added to the tank straight and then having gas dumped on top of it? I know this is what some of you do. curious, does anyone use castor bean oil? How about Yama-lube? How do you mix these(they are suppa thyack!)? Does this boat oil I use stagnate? How did Mazda do it on their GTU/GTO cars? What did they use?

I've carried a little 16 oz bottle in the car forever, with another as a backup that has only been used once...Just the wal-mart generic TCW3 stuff, comes in gal containers for like $6...pour the little bottle in the tank (10 oz per 8 gal), then add gas, it mixes well...I looked in the tank once while checking the filter in there, the premix was dispersed throughout, evenly...

Pre-mix SOP(standard operating procedure):

Pour 16 oz to a full tank of gasoline.

Enter vehicle after raplcing gas cap and closing lid.

start engine.

Allow to reach operating temp.

Find curvy road.

Thrash the hell out of the road.

Procedure done.

*prints 1987RX7guy's directions*

*puts them in the glovebox of his (currently not running) RX-7*

"No, really, officer, I was just mixing my gas & oil! See? I was following directions!"

awww, the heck with that, just drift out of the filling station. . .

Really, just dump it in and go as all above have said. No reason to pre-premix into a seperate can.

I'll answer because i'm bored.

You premix because either your OMP is dead or dying or you're scared that it's going to die. Also, most mechanics will tell you that engines that have been premixed will tear down much cleaner.

For me, i ditched the OMP because the oil lines were leaking. Also if you have an S5 you MUST keep your OMP plugged in.

im going to run premix and thought there has to be some way to get it directly in your tank easier than dumping it in the filler tube like a direct "injection" system into the tank. or something like that.

and also i know that the omp for the s5 seems to be a problem for alot of people. is there anyway you could reroute the lineds to feed directly into the oil pan? so you still have the omp running and you dont have to worry about the ecu going limp and you arent blocking off the holes where pressue can build up. just an idea.

S5's go into limp mode if you just remove the OMP.... BUT it seems a little bit ago someone with an s4 stumbled across and idea for blocking the OMP on s5's and not cause limp mode. Check out this thread

Although one person seems to say eventually it will leak, worth a shot I guess.

I'm not sure if the physics or angles or what not work out correctly, but is the gas you're pumping into your car after putting in the 2 stroke hitting the little pool of 2 stroke throwing it around. If so... just pumping the gas would mix it for you.

Of course not enough, so you'd have to drift around for a while .

No it doesn't. There is one cylindrical baffle at the fuel pump pick up, that's it.

I just dump around 12-13 oz. of premix into the gas tank and then fill it up to full on top of that... I end up filling up about 14-15 gallon usually. Never had any problems.

And the FC gas tanks actually have an additional baffle on the opposite side of the fuel pump location itself other than the "bowl" that protects the fuel pump...

The pic is sidewards.

Fuel pump baffle on on the left.

That wall you see isn't the gas tank wall; it's an additional baffle inside the gas tank to prevent sloshing.
