Premix and Emission Testing

Man I hate to ask anything about premix but I searched for two nights and can't find what I'm looking for (Go ahead and light your flames).

Has anyone run premix (TC-W3 2-stroke oil) without OMP AND successfully passed emission testing?

My guess is the emissions will actually get better from premix but who knows. Oh yea the mix will be 1 oz oil : 1 gal gas.

I'm planning on running an 88 TII basically stock engine with all the emissions stuff. The mods I'm considering are cold air intake, RP downpipe and high-flow cat for TII, and a RB 83-85 power pulse muffler (the chassis is an FB).

I really want to get rid of that OMP but I need to pass emissions as this is my daily driver.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Scott

yea from what i heard the emissions will be better because you will be burning oil that is ment to go thru the combustion chamber and be burn, and regular oil is not so it doesnt all burn up.

You won't have any problems. I live in Phoenix and have pretty strict emissions here.

I'm running Valvoline TC-W Multi-use premix at 100:1 ratio. The car also has a intake and I recently replaced all 3 cats with a single unit.

I don't remember the numbers off hand, but my car passed with plenty of room to spare (it only put out like 25% of the max allowable) So premix shouldnt give you a problem at all.

It's really easy to get 100:1 , from empty to fill up the tank on my car is about 12 gallons. A 16 ounce bottle (which is what they usually come in) will make 100:1 premix with 12 gallons. works out perfect.
