Pre mix and fuel filter

I did a search maybe I missed it. I just started pre mixing in one of my 7's. Will the oil clog the fuel filter or should I try to find one with a metal mesh inside I was told I should try to find one. Has anyone had problems with the fuel filter clogging.

Thanks in Advance
Edward

I've been using pre-mix for over eight years with no problem. As long as you're using a 2-stroke oil that meets the TCW-3 standard, there shouldn't be a problem. FWIW, I always add the oil before filling the tank, so that the turbulence mixes it well with the fuel. Others add after filling, and I've heard no reports of problems from them. YMMV

Just remember this: The oil is soluble in the gas. Even if a big glob got sucked up and stuck in the filter, unless it covered the entire filter it would still subsequently dissolve and end up mixed in the gas.

If you add oil to the tank then add the gas, it's unlikely even the above possibility would happen.

Whatever the cheapest that Pepboy's has. I used to use the cheapest that K-mart had, but my local K-mart went out of business. IMHO, brand isn't important as long as it meets the TCW-3 standard.
