powersteering?

powersteering?

wierd problem for me while driving my pwr steering stops working? so i pull over turn off the car check to see if my belt broke but it was still there check my fluid full. turn car back on power steering came back drove for about 5min powersteering gone again...what wrong with it?

Check the electronic control connections.
There is a stepper motor on the pump control, and a pressure sensor on the bottom of the pump.

Are you getting any error beeps from the steering computer under the dash?

Most likely it's the power steering computer. It's a common fault on these cars. The computer is under the dash, just above your left foot when you're driving. It's a silver box about 4 inches square and 1 inch thick. I've read that if you disconnect it while the boost is working, it will stay that way. Icemark (on this site) sells rebuilt units.
