Power Window Switch Up In Smoke...

It started smoking suddenly when using it. It was like sucking for a while, but it decided to go out with a bang. I checked out the board on the back of the switch and its all melted and ****. Where can I get another one? Also what can I bridge/give power to make it go back up since it died in mid travel?

call the parts yard
and iirc you need to take the one out of the passenger side and plug it in and roll it up
i dont think it will fit in the tray, but the plugs should be identical

I tried to switch over the two switches but it didn't seem to work. Anyone know the actual color wires to put together for it?

Wow - smoke.
They usually just quit with no hint of what happened.
You may have lost both the switch & the connector.

Check out the "body electrical" section in the FSM.

Turned out to be in the body section and not in body electrical, but I got it rolled up, and now it looks like I need another switch.

For rolling up, jumper the Red to 12 volts, and the Green to ground (or red/black and green/black if this is the drivers door). Reverse this (green to 12 volts- red to ground) to roll down.

I have rebuilt drivers door power window switches in stock, (www.mazdamark.com) but only in the S4 style. The S5 switches use a different set up and the internal part needed to rebuild it is no longer available.

I rigged up a temporary thing with an old car adapter and some spade ends crimped on it so I can ghetto roll up my window, lol.

I guess i'll just have to find a used one then.

My passengers side window hasn't worked since I got my car. Its driving me NUTS to not be able to roll down the window, I checked the fuses, and took off the door panel to check and see if anything was blocking it, and sprayed some lube on the tracks.

I took apart the switches, and there was a bunch of black **** on them, so I took a dab of carb cleaner and cleaned them up. Still nothing. I took it apart again to try something else a few minutes ago, and lost the little springs under the driver seat rails.

I just broke down about 5 minutes ago and ordered a new driver side switch from mark...hopefully it will solve my problem.
