Power window short/smoking. Car won't start. Searched.

Eh. So my girlfriend was driving my tenth ann the other day, and apparently, the passenger side power window switch started to smoke badly. Upon checking it when she got home, neither of the windows would roll up, but every other electrical aspect of the car was fine... Except for the starter problem, which may, or may not be related, but that's neither here, nor there.

I checked the switch, and it feels absolutely loose. No resistance from it, pushing down, or pulling up. I'm not an electrician, so would someone know what this probably was, and how to fix it? I know it was probably a short, but why the switch would be completely loose is beyond me.

If you want to, you can convert to manual windows. That's what I would do, just goto the junkayrds. Less mass and can open while car is off moar stuffs less bs.

Problem 1: You let a girl drive your car.

Problem 2: No clue.
