Power Window fuse keeps blowing
Hey guys, I just got my FC last week. Very excited to finally have a rotary, which I have been wanting for a long long time....
It's a pretty clean FC, but there's a couple of weird electrical (uh-oh!) gremlins.
The power window fuse keeps blowing, according to the previous owner. He left a few spare 30A fuses in the car and I had to use one this morning.
Also, I can wind the passenger window down from the driver side, but I can't wind it back up. I have to reach over to the passenger door to raise it up.
Lastly, the intermittent wipers don't always work (so I guess it works intermittently), but it hasn't rained so I haven't had to find out.
Any ideas on the power windows? Esp the fuse blowing. Is that a sign of a short circuit somewhere?

Your switches are probably gone, which is a normal problem. Ive found the best way to eliminate this is to go to manual windows wait for icemark or one of the other rx7 electrical technicians to see your thread. He should be able to provide you with more insight on the subject.

But how come after changing the fuse, it works again?
I don't mind manual window on the driver side but I don't think I'd like to have to stretch over to crank the passenger window...
Especially when I'm complaining about having to reach over to pull on the electric switch right now!

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
wiper is a bad relay in the switch, you can replace it yourself if you are electricaly minded or PM me and I can do it for you for pretty cheap.
as far as the window, You will need to pull the door panel to access the switch. It sounds like either a contact has broken inside or that there is and issue with a damaged wire between the switchs. I am assuming from your description that the pass switch is fine, but the fuse blows only when you use the drivers switch (which may need rebuilding or replacing).
Once you have the drivers door switch accessed you will want to check the insides of the switch, to see if it broken or burnt.

Actually the fuse seemed to blow in the middle of the night, not while I was operating the window.
Which is a good thing because I don't have windows stuck in a halfway position, but it also makes me suspect that it's not the switches?
