power steering to manual

Thumbs down power steering to manual

ive got an 89 gtus and i was wondering if the manual steering rack is a direct bolt in replacement for the power rack? thanks

You need to replace one of the mounts as the manual uses a different one. I forgot which side it is but i'm sure someone with the info fresh in their memory will be able to chime in...

only the pasenger side is different and its just a smaller diamiter. so yes its a bolt in if you have the brackets. if not youl have to make a bracket.

Another option would be to depower your current steering rack. It'll give you the same manual feel, but without having the slower steering of the manual rack. Look in the archives for my thread on this. It's not hard to do.
