Question Power Steering Guru Needed!

I'm looking for a power steering guru!

I've got the old "changing assist percentage for no reason" problem in my 88'vert. You never know how much assist you'll have or when it will change. I never get any "beeps" from the computer. Interestingly, I've removed the computer and resoldered it and so far, so good. Which brings me to my questions:

1) There doesn't seem to be a buzzer in my computer. Does it interface with one of the many other buzzers in the car?

2) The factory service manual speakes of a check connector (G) to measure the pulses, but says it is not connected in the convertible and I can attest to that - there is no connection comming off the (g) connector!

3) Does anyone actually know how the damn motor works to change the assist? Has anyone had it apart?

4) What sort of algorithms does it use? ie What the hell is the turn sensor for - I would guess it is so that the assist doesn't increase as you slow down in a turn

5) Are there only 3 ranges as posts seem to indicate, or is it infinitely variable in the assist percentage?

6) And please don't give me the "get rid of the power rack" answer. I've done a search of every post on power steering and am getting sick of that answer. It's obviously a common problem and there should be an solution

And finally:

Anyone know if the power steerin pressure switch can be cleaned/repaired? (like the power window switches for example) Has anyone had it out? What does it look like inside?
