Question Power Steering Fluid

I just had to replace my power steering line in my 88 vert. The mechanic used regular power steering fluid vs the recommended tranny? fluid. Is this going to be a problem? Should it be drained and replaced?

You are OK.
I personally use the Power steering fluid instead of Dextron II(trans fluid).
after all the Power steering is Not a Transmission.

DEXRON, not DEXTRON, does have friction modifiers for clutch plate friction . You don't really need that. Other than that , you'll be just fine. If you do desire DEXRON, use DEXRON III or IV. III is higher temp than II. DEX VI is synthetic. Really good stuff.

I had a GXL.. The original pump leaked regular power steering fluid, so I replaced it.. Then after a little while the replacement was leaking too. [I had no idea at the time that PS systems could use ATF]

Once I found out, I topped it off with ATF sealant and have used ATF on my cars ever since...
