Power, Need More Electrical Power

I think I may need more electrical power. I've got an 88 TII. It seems as though I have a lot of resistance in my electrical system. For instance, when I drive at night, the headlights go dim when the motor is at idle. Also, when I am driving with a lot of electronics on, light the headlights, I have a serious loss in power, like the alternator is not enough to supply to the injectors/spark plugs. I have gone trough quite a few of alternators in this car, so is it possible to drop in a different alternator with more power? Do I have to changer the circuitry to handle more elictrical power? To be realistic, I think this may be a faster solution than rewiring all of the wires to overcome all of the resistance. Let me know your opinion, thanks.

You can install an FD alternator, or find one for another car that fits (there was a thread on that not too long ago, try searching 'alternator sweetness'). Are you running some kind of crazy stereo? The stock alt should be able to handle all the stock electronics. Maybe cleaning your grounds could help a little.

EDIT: here's the alternator link: https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ator+sweetness It sounds like you have some kind of major issue in the electrical system if you've gone through multiple alternators.

That about maxes out my electrical system knowledge, one of the experts will chime in soon
