No. The neighbor has a Mazda Protoge , 2001, with two heated 02 sensors. Most if not all cars with OBDII have two heated 02 sensors on each bank if a V6/8). One to monitor the exhaust output prior to the converter and one post converter. The on that is post converter, should not be switching back and forth like the front 02 sensor. It should be switching little if any and be around a half volt, showing that the converter is doing it's job. If IT is switching back and forth like the one in front of the converter, you need to chunk the converter and put in a new one.

Anyway, heated 02 sensors have four wires (Bosch). Two are dedicated to the heater and their polarity matters not. The other two wires are one ground wire (grey in color if Bosch) and one output wire (Black in color if Bosch). Swap those grey and black wires and the 02 sensors don't work and you get a OBDII code stating those sensors are not working. Uncross those two wires and the sensors now work and both 02 sensors codes go south. I'm lost how someone could cross things up like that and not be able to figue out what they did wrong. If I did that I'd refund the 80 bucks to the customer that was charged (neighbor bought the sensors himself, 80 bucks was the install).

In other words, his car isn't a RX anything. Just a 2 liter family car with spunk.
