power fc

hey i was wondering how many of you guys are using the power fc and if so is it easy to pull in and out of your car for smog reasons?

I thought you could only put it in an fd??? I may be mistaken but I've never scene an fc guy with a power fc.

There are Japan rotary specialty shops that offer a "modded" A'PEXi Power FC to work on FC's.
FEED comes to mind.
I think there's a current eBay seller selling them modded by AP Engineering right now.

This is possible cause the Kouki FC ECU plugs are exactly the same as the FD ECU plugs, with the exception of a extra 4th ECU plug (FD auto trans).

They are not very popular in the US, as I think most of the info and interface is still in Japanese?

The other problem is that it utilizes the stock harness and one of the benefits people seek when going stand alone ems on fc's is the new harness. The stock one after 18 years doesn't tend to be up to shape, and replacement is expensive from Mazda. Your only other options are to rebuild it, which is time consuming and can be frightening for someone not intimate with electrical systems, or hope to find a used one in good condition for a resonable price. I don't know prices off hand but I am guessing that the price of the pfc coupled with a new harness would be more than you stander E6K or E6X, LTX-8, WOLF etc.
