Power door locks (not quite what you think)

someone on here installed a set of solenoids in their doors and wired them to their alarm. Instant power door locks withough all the OEM switches and other issues. Trouble is I can't find the thread that talked about it to figure out how I can do this to my own car. Any help?

Considering how little it costs (~$100), IMO you're best just to get whoever installed the alarm to fit the solenoids and connect them to the alarm.

There is no way in the world I'd let anyone else install my alarm. Most alarm places follow a pre-set pattern when installing alarms. Brain under dash, hood pin up front, siren near the battery. I lost my last car to a cookie cutter alarm install by the good people at Car toys. It never even went off because the theives knew were everything was. I'm installing the whole thing myself using some new tricks I learned when Investigating how the theives got into my last car.

I remeber the thread the guy showed pics of the solenoids in the doors and everything.

aftermarket door lock motors. I'm sorry I should have specified better. I have an 86' GXL no power door locks, I'm going to install an alarm so I figured I might as well rig it up so my alarm pager will lock and unlock the doors for me.

One other trick, if your alarm has a horn output attach it to one of those ogga horns they sell at pep boys and those places. Trust me EVERYONE looks at your car when it makes that noise, either that or general quarters.
