Power Difference between KN intake vs Drop in.

So currently I have a K&N drop in filter , I found in victoria british magazine that they make a cone filter style for the FC. Would this style of air filter bring more power? I know it could suck in air more freely but the stock system is pretty much a cold air intake... which one would make more power?

I have a complete exhaust system and it is street ported. So Im just trying to figure out which one would feed the beast better.

Cold Air, Cone filter

If you install something like this with the K&N cone, you'll almost have similar cold air for intake. This is off the Mariah Motorsports web site and is the one I specifically used for The Beast. http://www.mariahmotorsports.com/ But many forum members have fab'd up their own in similar design. Without creating this cold air chamber (and air feed by a vented headlight cover or the like), what power gains the cone gives is there primarily only before the engine warms up. As you seem to already know, hot air is counter productive for power gains.

The extra plus for the K&N is that it is smog legal and you get a sticker as proof to the inquiring eye.

I have K&N drop in's in all my other RX7's.

It will be interesting to see what dyno charts or butt dyno experience might show in a before and after with only a filter change the difference. I haven't a clue if it's that noticable by itself.

would this provide a noticeable difference from the drop in filter?
