Power antennas for $19.99!!!

Hit your local Radio Shack up for this deal. I just bought one so I could install my new spoiler on my FC.

They have power antennas for only $19.99! Originally $39.99, but they are closing out all car audio equipment according to the guy working there so everything in that department is half off!

You can go to www.radioshack.com to order on-line or I have many Radio Shacks near me, I can drop in and buy one for anybody and ship it out, for exact cost of purchase and priority mail shipping.

Thought I would give a heads up on this one.

That ******* figures!!!!!!!!!!!!

I spent $29 for a new mast from Mazda on Monday. Maybe I'll buy one just to have an extra. Is it just your local Radio Shack or is it a nationwide closeout sale?

According to Radio Shack's website, the deal is nationwide.

If your local store is out, LMK. I will see what I can do to pick one up for you. I literally have about 6 stores I can visit local to me.

Audiofight, can you please post a part, model, or sku number? I'd like to be able to call my local shack and see if they have them at the same price.
TIA

I was reading the directions and it seemed to indicate removing chrome parts. Not sure man...it may have chrome parts. Like the visiable part on the car. That would have to spraypainted. But hell, at 19.95 that is a deal chromed up or not!

looks just like a regular telescoping ant.

I work for Radio Shack. Yes, it is a nationwide close out, not just on that, but all car audio stuff, speakers, amps, etc...

We are getting out of the car audio bussiness. I'm not sure what is going to replace it but, I know we have a 400 watt amp that is normaly $199 for $99.

I will have the antenna working later today, as well as pics of my fresh new paint job. I get to drive her home today! Finally!

I will take a pics of the mast this afternoon and post it with the rest of my stuff.

i gotta question...does anyone know where i could get a radio that is completely wire? (kind of like an antennae on a shelf stereo system) I want to seal up that hole on the back, but i dont want to get a new mast..i would rather get a complete wire and wire it along the rear hatch.

Not sure where to get the wire idea, but.........

I got my car out and the antenna works nice! Simple wiring when you have an aftermarket deck to work with, just wired it into my amp lead and power/ground wires. Tada!

It's a pretty standard antenna. I have a Hischman auto antenna--good luck with the German instructions. I wish I had gotten the Radio Shack one.

I think this sale has something to do with Radio Shack, very soon, wanting to clear out all of its auto audio department. As many Radio Shack clerks told me.

I have been reading up and it seems like the 2nd gens use a grounding to signal the antenna to rise. Not a 12V signal. Is the radio shack antenna cool with this?

I will be getting mine in a few days.

The radio shack one isn't cool with it unless you are wired up like I am.

Power antenna lead run from an aftermarket radio run to the rear of the hatch for my amps and a power/ground lead to hook to the antenna.

If you are still stuck with the stock stereo, not sure if I am sold on the whole "It is as good as an aftermarket setup" bit people are claiming, but you will need a relay that can be bought from Best Buy, or any car audio shop. They should sell you one and give you instructions on how to wire it up.

Thats cool. I will read them or start seeking a relay. Hell, at $20 it is worth a little work. I would love to know the logic behind this design.

My '86 is aftermaket kenwood. The 91 TII is stock. Guess one relay is needed
